Time Away From Life
(2023)

Time Away From Life is a collection of alt-folk songs defined by place and process. Recorded throughout lockdowns in a small room-turned-makeshift-studio these are songs which were shaped slowly by the wild winds and solitary beaches of Mutatayna (South Arm) in the South of Lutruwita (Tasmania). Unlike the previous album Black Dog (recorded live with band to tape) Time Away from Life is a self-produced and self-recorded effort. Drums were recorded in the bedroom, trumpets in the kitchen, and the whole instrumentation and recording process was driven through learning-by-doing.

“…his most accomplished and reflective listen yet...if you’re a fan of people like Mount Eerie, Sun Kil Moon, Bill Callahan, maybe some of the more down tempo moments from the Thrill Jockey roster, then strap in because you are about to find your favourite new artist.” - Daniel Gordon (For the Record)
