Serene Dreams is the longstanding collaboration between singer/lyricist Melissa Mikletic & guitarist Alan Jones, formerly of beloved Naarm/Melb band Tall Shores. Despite having collaborated as a duo since 2018, this self-titled EP is their debut release. Recorded and produced by Oscar Lush, and featuring contributions from Grace Ferguson & Mike Lillis, these songs are syrupy slow burners, each one anchored by Alan's expressive guitar playing, Mel's powerful voice, and her highly evocative lyricism. The soundworld they've created is a hazy, cinematic dream, one suited for fans of bands like Mazzy Star, Weyes Blood and Yo La Tengo. In their own words though, "they are love songs for renegades & lullabies for getaway drivers".
